Last week I wrote about Onna Station Nakayukui Market and all it has to offer visitors and shoppers. But of all the shops to explore, the “Okinawa Soba Soup” restaurant cannot be missed. My husband and I agree it is among the best soba we have had on the island.

The covered open-air seating is protected on three sides by other stalls. You order from a ticket machine but don’t worry, the ordering process is self-explanatory and there is enough English and photos to ensure you get what you intended to order. You hand your ticket to the friendly staff at the window and your Soba set is made to order within minutes.

Even though it is self-service and quick, the shop does not spare any details. The soba is served in local pottery and the set includes a side of fried rice, local seaweed and two tiny fried doughnuts.

Condiments are on the picnic style tables with bench seating and drinks are self-service. When you are done, be sure to explore all the shops and stop by the Onna Village Museum that is a short two-minute walk away. (Be sure to check out the post linked above to learn more!)
